GLACIER BAY, ALASKA

As you make your plans for a trip to this beautiful area of Alaska, be sure to include a stay in a local, Glacier Bay bed and breakfast. Accessible only by plane or boat, the phenomenal, watery wilderness of Glacier Bay National Park is well worth the effort it takes to get here. Glacier Bay, AK, a very popular destination, is serviced by the nearby town of Gustavus and is located in the state’s Interior Passage. Glacier Bay is full of inlets, fjords, and wildlife such as humpback whales, orcas, black bears, mountain goats, sea lions, tufted puffins and bald eagles and the 16 glaciers fill the sea with icebergs of all shapes and sizes. Visitors to the area have the opportunity to experience the bay through both boat tours and kayaking. Bartlett Cove is the park headquarters and offers a jumping off point for several trails. Forest Trail is a one mile nature walk that winds through the local forestland, Bartlett River Trail is a 1.5-mile trail that will take you alongside a tidal lagoon while Point Gustavus Beach Walk winds along the shoreline south of Bartlett Cove. No matter how you spend you days, we hope you will take the time to tell us all about your stay in a Glacier Bay B&B!
